It's "Sassy" time here at Linnie Blooms which only means that I (Sassy) bring you today's post.
As I was sorting through Linnie Blooms canvas pieces I had on hand and what was to be put aside for future projects, I was left with a canvas circle, arrow, burlap strings, a piece of mesh, and a few snippets.
Using the pieces above, I created this 5 x 7 boxed canvas:
The circle was used for the girl's head, the house/arrow for the body, burlap threads for hair, and mesh for additional texture in the lower, right-hand corner.
Be sure to check out Linnie Blooms blog for more inspiring ideas.
Thank for stopping!

Linnie Blooms - Sassy Time
I have the pleasure of bringing to you another project I created for Linnie Blooms.
For this project, I used:
Linnie Blooms Canvas Long Blank
I love working with the Linnie Blooms Canvas Long Blank. They are the perfect size!
To create the above:
1. Applied light gesso wash
2. Blended three colors of Tim Holtz Distress Ink (Faded Jeans, Peacock Feathers, Gathered Twigs) to create the background.
3. Stamped the GinaK images using Jet Black Archival Ink
4. Hand-lettered "Life is like a camera...),
Working with the canvas the ideas are endless. Check out the Linnie Blooms store.to see all the canvas pieces that only are limited by your imagination.
Thanks for looking.

Sassy Time
I have the pleasure of bringing to you another project I created for Linnie Blooms.
For this project, I used:
Linnie Blooms Canvas Pennants
Linnie Blooms Medium Canvas Butterfly
Linnie Blooms Small Canvas Butterfly
Golden Fiber Paste
Stampin Up alphabet
Vintage dictionary meaning of "joy"
Stickles
Gesso
Gelattos
3 Girl Jam wrinkle ribbon
Bling and buttons from my stash
Burlap frame
I love all the textures!
For the Linnie Blooms Canvas Pennants, I gave them a light coat of gesso and then worked with reds and pinks to shade. The canvas butterflies also received a gesso coat, followed by acrylic paint in two different shades of pink. I stamped on one and splattered with a flick of paint on the other. Both were outlines in gesso and embellished with the buttons and 3 Girl Jam wrinkle ribbon.
This was an easy project. Working with the canvas the ideas are non-stop. It, too, is so easy to work with so if you haven't tried it, check out the Linnie Blooms store.
Thanks for looking.

Sassy's Canvas Long Blank
Today, it is my turn to bring you a project I created using Linnie Blooms canvas pieces.
I love the long blanks! You start with this:
Create your magic!
For my piece above, I applied a thin layer of gesso to the background.
I added a piece of Tim Holtz tissue tape.
With my fingers blended gelatos for the background.
Stamped the girl image and the word Magic.
Paper-pieced the girl's dress and socks.
Used a stencil and fiber paste for texture.
Stamped with paint and a bottle cap the circles.
If you haven't tried Linnie Bloom's canvas pieces, you are missing out. They are fantastic to work with be it you are a cardmaker, scrapbooker, alterer, or mixed media artist. They will add just the touch you need to complete your project or for a complete project. The possibilities are endless.
Thanks for taking a peek!

Meet the Designers - Sassy (Joan Olk)
Yep, I go by Sassy. That's it. Some may know me as Joan Olk, but not many. I was born and raised in Minnesota - Land of 10,000 Lakes and still reside here. My amazing husband, Jason, is my rock. He is my balance, best friend, supporter and I can't imagine a day without his love. From my first marriage I have two children, now adults (32 and 28), both which make their Momma very proud. Jason and I have our family, two little girls (fur babies) Sassy and Gracie - both peke-a-poos. Two years ago I became homebound due to numerous medical issues but I don't let that stop my spirit!

I love to get messy, work with my hands, and feel the textures. Inspiration comes to me from many sources - the beauty of life that surrounds me, the places I want to be in the future, and creating "outside-the-box". In addition, I am self-taught through tutorials and You Tube videos and every day find something else I want to try. I always give my best and that best may come after several attempts. I love mixed media, altering, and art journaling. I also enjoy photography (beginner), crochet, cooking/baking, reality TV, and online games.
Each day I choose happiness - making a choice in how we respond and approach what comes our way. Linnie Blooms - I am ready and am excited to be surrounded by so many creative souls. I know I will learn from each of you.
