Linnie Blooms 12 x 12 Old Glory

Where were you this Patriotic Weekend? Did you see fireworks? Did you see Old Glory?
I saw fireworks and smiles and food that stretch for miles and miles. Sang Songs and don't tell but no one was in tune..  Sunday, I was watching the US women's soccer team win the World Cup and flags were flying and smiles were alive through painted faces it was a sea of Red White and Blue. It made me remember that I forget how beautiful are flag truly is, the meaning behind it and how proud I am of it!

I am making my post on July 6th and I'm adding my version of Old Glory

I started with the 12 x 12 Canvas Page from Linnie Blooms, I love this size it's great for a frame, an album or all sorts of things.

I used the Linnie Blooms Canvas Sunflower Stencil to hold my USA , I  daubed and painted and texturize to create stripes, I did them freehand so I wasn't looking to make them straight. I used Folk Art paint White for the base and Folk Art Red to start the stripe and finished with Red from Art Anthology.  Art Anthology's Mud was used on top of stripes for give texture.
I threw some turquoise paint from Art Anthology in scattered places.
I used the Linnie Blooms Canvas Sunflower Stencil to trace onto some material and I cut it out from some material I had lying around the house.  I used Sizzix's Star Framelits to cut out a star from the material and from a piece of lace.

I forgot to mention that before I started the project I painted the canvas using the Folk Art Paint White

Happy Summer Day's

Rustic Journal Kit by Rochelle

Hello Crafters!

Today I am sharing with you something a little out of my comfort zone
an altered journal. :)
This kit comes with a 6X9 Canvax, 2 Petal Flower, 1 Canvas Pocket, 2 Buttons and Jute.

I started with some Gesso and used a stencil to create some texture.  Once it dried, I added color using a blue Gelato. I folded the journal in half and punched to holes using the big Cropadile. I added a few sheets of paper in the inside of the journal and tied it with Jute.
Next, I altered the flowers and pocket canvas using a mixture of water colors and Gelatos.
I used Linnie Blooms Stitched Sunshine Stamp collection on the pocket and doodled around the flowers and pocket.  I also added some patterned paper and instead of the buttons, I used bling for my center of the flowers. Once it all dried I glued everything down in the center of the journal, with the flowers overlapping each other and popping at least one flower up.
And there you have it!  My altered Rustic Journal was done.  I love how the everything came out! :)
I hope I have inspired you to create your own altered canvas journal! You can find it in the

Thank you for stopping by!

"Lovely Princess" 12x12 Canvas Scrapbook Page

Hi All! It's Rochelle here today to share with you this 12x12 Layout I created on a Linnie Blooms 12x12 Canvas Scrapbook Page.  I love creating scrapbook layouts, it's what I create most of the time.  Being able to create a layout on a 12x12 canvas is not only innovative, it's also super fun!!

Here's my layout:

Here's the 12x12 canvas before I started to create the layout:
The canvas comes already stitched, lined with recycled paper.  So it's very durable! :)

I used a Tim Holtz stencil with textured (white) paint to create the sun rays:

After adding 3 different Heidi Swapp color sprays to create the background, I chose a few different pieces os patterned paper and layered them.  I love using the Linnie Blooms Mesh.  I added it into my layers and just love how it came out!

I used the Linnie Blooms Canvas Petal Flowers and the Linnie Blooms Leaves to create this flower.

I used the same Heidi Swapp color sprays that I used for the background to color the flower. I scrunched up one petal flower and layered it onto another one and added a small piece of the mess for the center.

Lastly, I added my embellishments and I was done! :)

If you haven't tried creating on a 12x12  Canvas Scrapbook Page, you need to try it!!! :)

You can purchase the12x12 Canvas on the Linnie Blooms website HERE.

Outdoor Fun~Beach Layout

Hi Friends! It's Abby with ScrappinAbby and I'm back to share another fun project with you for June's Challenge: Outdoor Fun. This month we'll be showing you some fun ways to use your LB Stencils/Masks and Canvas pieces to show what kind of outdoor fun we will be having this month. I have a secret though...my outdoor fun isn't until July when we're on vacation so don't tell anyone ; )

I created a mixed media layout using some of the LB canvas pieces....
I also have a video that shows you the project up close along with a tutorial of how I created the leaves using some of the LB Canvas Pieces...

In the video...I walk you through the steps on how I created the leaves for this layout but below is a photo of the process so you can see the transformation...
Love how these turned out and how they added such a fun texture and pop of color to the layout....

I can't wait to put a family photo of us on the beach on this layout once we're back from our vacation next month. This is going to be a fun addition to add to my gallery wall at home and what a way to remember a fun day of my family enjoying some "Outdoor Fun".

Thanks for stopping by the blog today and be sure to head to the online store and pick up some of the Canvas Pieces for yourself.

Happy Crafting!!

A Girl Is~Mixed Media Tag

Hi Friends! Abby here with ScrappinAbby and I'm back with another fun DT project to share with all of you. This time I created a cool teenage-themed mixed media tag using some of the canvas flower pieces from the BLOOM collection.
I also have a video that shows you the tag up close along with a short tutorial on how I altered the bloom canvas pieces & used them as the skirt for my Prima Doll Stamp....

I really wanted to create something different with the bloom pieces and use them in a different application other than a flower. I knew I wanted to have some sort of texture/image on the canvas so I used some Archival Jet Black ink and used one of my background stamps...
Next I used some spray that I watered down a bit with some water on the canvas pieces (please note that I didn't cut the flowers in half until after they were sprayed)....

I used my TH Tiny Attacher to create pleats on each end of the flower piece I was using. This created a draped and skirt like effect with the pieces. I just made the pleats go in a little further with each layer to create that ruffled skirt look...

Once that final step was complete, I just began layering all the elements on my tag. Super easy :)

I just love how the skirt came out using the Bloom canvas pieces. Such a fun project that really is quick to create. Be sure to head over to the Linnie Blooms store and pick up some fun canvas pieces to use on your mixed media & other crafty projects.

Don't forget to stop by my BLOG and see the full product list and additional photos.

Happy Crafting : )
