Canvas Blank By Rochelle S.

Hello!!!  Today I'll be sharing with you another fun project with  Linnie Blooms Canvas Shapes!!!

For this project, I used Linnie Blooms Canvas Blanks and Leaves:

I love how the chevrons on the Canvas Blank came out!  I used Mr. Huey's spray with Heidi Swapp stencil.  The color on the canvas with the stitching works so well together.

I used 3 of the Linnie Blooms Canvas large Leaves to create the flower.  I used Tattered Angels Glam and Glaze to color the leaves. Here's a close up:

What I love about Linnie Blooms Canvas Blanks is that you can create right on the canvas blank and then add the blank to a variety of projects.  I can add this blank to an album cover, to a larger canvas board,  put it in a shadow box, add it to a scrapbook page, a card or just leave it as is. :)

You can find these blanks and more canvas pieces at Linnie Blooms

Thank you for stopping by!

Introducing Linnie Blooms Mixed Stitch

Last Friday I was a vendor at CREATE Mixed Media Retreat's Artist Vendor Faire.  My favorite thing that I did all evening was to educate people on my "Mixed Stitch" products.  The above project was created WITHOUT SEWING.  I absolutely LOVE the look of mixing fabric and paper.  The combination of me coming from a papercrafting background and loving the look of sewing but being less than good at sewing, I needed to create some products that allow me to get the look I want but are as easy for me to do as papercrafting.

Introducing Linnie Blooms Mixed Stitch.  My blanks and shapes make it so easy to create a project like the one above WITHOUT SEWING!  I started with one of my Linnie Blooms Long Blanks.
IMG_0468.JPG

My Long Blanks have cotton fabric on the back, recycled book paper inside and duck natural canvas on the front.  You can color the canvas with anything!  Acrylics, markers, sprays, gelatos, pastels, inks...ANYTHING!  Then, use some basic mixed media techniques like stamping, stencils, embossing, brayering, doodling, ANYTHING that you can do on paper, you can do on this canvas.

I colored my Linnie sunflower shapes with Faber-Casetell Gelatos and adhered them with Fabric Fusion adhesive.  I colored the Linnie Texture and leaf shapes with Gelatos and water, and attached those to the Long Blank using Tim Holtz' Tiny Attacher.  End result -- NO SEWING!  But it sure looks like I did!

I hope you will checkout my Linnie Blanks and Shapes and give Mixed Stitch a try!  And, I'll let you in on a little secret...more Linnie products are going to be released very soon!!  Yay!!

Want to win a FREE Linnie Long Blank and Shapes to try it yourself?  Simply share this post either on your blog, facebook or tweet and leave me a comment here with your name and how you shared it.  You earn an entry into the raffle for every way you share!  I'll pick a winner MONDAY, LABOR DAY, SEPTEMBER 2ND.  Good luck!

Sassy's Canvas Long Blank

Today, it is my turn to bring you a project I created using Linnie Blooms canvas pieces.

I love the long blanks! You start with this:

Create your magic!

For my piece above, I applied a thin layer of gesso to the background.
I added a piece of Tim Holtz tissue tape.
With my fingers blended gelatos for the background.

Stamped the girl image and the word Magic.
Paper-pieced the girl's dress and socks.
Used a stencil and fiber paste for texture.
Stamped with paint and a bottle cap the circles.

If you haven't tried Linnie Bloom's canvas pieces, you are missing out.  They are fantastic to work with be it you are a cardmaker, scrapbooker, alterer, or mixed media artist.  They will add  just the touch you need to complete your project or for a complete project.  The possibilities are endless.

Thanks for taking a peek!

Hi everyone! Sorry for the late post. My family and I are just getting home from a mini vacation and it's been crazy. I'm sure those of you who travel with children can understand! lol I made this canvas with quite a few Linnie Blooms shapes.

I painted the leaves and stamped on them for added texture.
The sun shape was made out of a butterfly and 2 large leaves.
The blue circles I used were also once butterflies.I used my fingernails to really fray the edges of the centers of the flowers. I stamped them too.
I made the canvas sunflowers into daisies!
It's always fun looking at things in a new way. If you have an idea...go with it! These shapes can be altered in a ton of ways to suite your creative needs. :) They also take paint and ink beautifully.
Stop by the Linnie Blooms store and see what you can make!

Thanks for stopping in and I apologize for posting late! Now I get to go do tons of laundry! I'd rather be playing with Linnie Blooms canvas shapes!
See ya soon! ~~Kimberly S.

Hi Everyone!
Julie from A Little Bit of Bling here to show you all a fun wall hanging that I made for my new house!

I started off with an 8x8 canvas that I covered with some October Afternoon paper.
I then cut out the Home "h" and the flowers from the Silhouette store.

The fun part came when I got to decorate my Linnie Shape!

I used some Gelatos and turned my House from plain canvas to this:

I finished it off with a ribbon flower using 3 Girl JAM crinkle ribbon!

I been having so much fun playing with the Linnie Shapes.  Make sure to stop by the store and grab some for yourself!

I hope you love them as much as I do!

Little Birdies!

Oh my goodness, I had SO much fun playing with the Linnie Bloom shapes for this piece!! Working with the design team is such an honor, there are SO many talented ladies here!

I LOVE working in mixed media and Linda's canvas pieces totally hold up to my paints, glues and complete redo-s that happen all the time!  The possibilities are endless with the shapes that are available!!  You should definitely spend some time shopping at her store, Linnie Blooms!  You can also visit the Facebook page and the Linnie Blooms Pintrest page for more ideas!

These were the two pieces I started with . . . the bird shape and the sunflower piece that I folded over to make a birds' nest!

I painted up the nest with acrylic paints!! Seriously,  just put down different shades of browns and creams to make it nest looking! After it dried, I used embroidery thread to sew the two sides together!

The birds were colored with gelatos and white paint.  The Faber-Castell Gelatos, absorb right into the material and give it an amazing color!! Love!

I used Simple Stories I Heart Summer paper for the background, brown paper for the tree and random green paper scraps for the leaves!  Lots of pens and doodles complete the canvas!

If you are interested in seeing more detailed pics and a short tutorial, visit my Blog, (I think I have too many photos to share here!)  You can also see other projects that I have done using Linnie Blooms shapes . . . I think I might have become a Linnie Blooms addict!

Thank you so much for stopping by!!

Canvas square blank

Sher here today, I'm sharing a day with the talented Rochelle, so please make sure to see her beautiful project.  It's amazing.

Okay so, Mixed Media.. have you tried it?  I am just starting out, and it is so much fun.  My canvas piece is from Linnie Blooms.  When you are ready to create you can find this size canvas and so many more here:  http://linda-barutha.squarespace.com/shop/

Linnie Blooms also has a facebook page and a fabulous blog, come check it out! https://www.facebook.com/LinnieBlooms  The other girls projects are amazing!  They inspire me every day.  http://linnieblooms.blogspot.com/

I started out with this square piece of canvas.  Painted it with white gesso, dabbed it with mixed yellow and white paint and let dry.  I stamped my image on it and then  I painted it in with Stickles and liquid pearls.  I used heirloom gold Perfect Pearls mists after everything was dry all over my project.

This is actually a mini album, and the blank is perfect for my cover.  :)

Cherish Forever Long Blank Canvas Project

Hello Crafters! Rochelle here today to share with you a mixed media project I made with Linnie Blooms Long Blanks and Butterfly Shapes.
I had a lot of fun playing with different types of product with this project.  I started by spraying Linnie Blooms long blank with Tattered Angels Mist. Then randomly stenciled the chevrons using Art Anthology paint, and stenciled the circles with modeling paste, and lastly random stamping with a script stamp with a PITT pen by Faber-Castell.

For the Linnie Bloom butterflies shapes, I used Tattered Angels for the yellow and Art Anthology paint for the pink.   The corrugated butterfly is by Jillibean.  I misted it first with Dylusions but wanted it more darker so I used a light coat of modeling paste.

I used white flowers from Petaloo.  To paint these flowers, I used a mixture of mediums I used throughout the project.  However, I used a paint brush to apply the mists/paint onto the flowers and then added water for a more watercolor look.

Lastly, I used some old Heidi Swap clear word stamps (that I just LOVE) with archival ink.

I am truly having a great time being part of Linnie Blooms design team and loving all her canvas shapes!! You can see more of her shapes HERE.

Thanks for stopping by! :)
