Rustic Journal Kit by Rochelle

Hello Crafters!

Today I am sharing with you something a little out of my comfort zone…
an altered journal. :)
This kit comes with a 6X9 Canvax, 2 Petal Flower, 1 Canvas Pocket, 2 Buttons and Jute.

I started with some Gesso and used a stencil to create some texture.  Once it dried, I added color using a blue Gelato. I folded the journal in half and punched to holes using the big Cropadile. I added a few sheets of paper in the inside of the journal and tied it with Jute.
Next, I altered the flowers and pocket canvas using a mixture of water colors and Gelatos.
I used Linnie Blooms Stitched Sunshine Stamp collection on the pocket and doodled around the flowers and pocket.  I also added some patterned paper and instead of the buttons, I used bling for my center of the flowers. Once it all dried I glued everything down in the center of the journal, with the flowers overlapping each other and popping at least one flower up.
And there you have it!  My altered Rustic Journal was done.  I love how the everything came out! :)
I hope I have inspired you to create your own altered canvas journal! You can find it in the

Thank you for stopping by!

A Pocket Full of Posies

Hi Everyone....this is Dawn Mattson from Linnie Blooms design team 2015.  I hope this will bring some warmth to those of you longing for Spring.

I had SO much fun making this sweet  Pocket full of Posies canvas.

I used an 8.5x11 canvas, canvas pennants, pockets and flowers from Linnie Blooms

The paper is from Bazzill Vintage Lace and the flower centers are Tim Holtz Gumdrops.
I painted the flowers with Gelatos and while they were wet I pulled the center and twisted. Then I dried them with the heat gun being careful so they would keep their form. The side view shows the how they pop up off the page.
I used the small Linnie Blooms pocket and colored it with Gelatos and then used a sharpie to "stitch" it.  I used Prima bling to make the V on the pocket.
I used the mini banner pieces from Linnie Blooms and painted them with Gelatos then stamped the letters with Staz-on ink. I left them loose and only glued them on the top to add to the free flowing look. I used Maya Road twine and another little Prima bling on the point.
Here's the other side view...OH and I stuffed the pocket with cheesecloth so it would puff up.
A pocket full of Posies....so much fun to make.  I hope you all enjoy it.
Thanks so much....~Dawn

Do What Makes You Happy

Hello and Happy Saturday!
Man O Man…
Sometimes I struggle with journaling and scrapbooking…ever get in that rut?
I did this page (6X6") for our son who is an avid movie connoisseur.
I have told him a bazillion times that I
would do this book for him so it's about time I got started.
I've added all sorts of bits and pieces of texture and color.
You can find that bright red
This particular piece is a pocket, but I turned it sideways to create an arrow.
Thanks for peeking in on me today.
Take some time and browse the posts and the Linnie Blooms shop.
You'll find gobs of inspiration from Linda and the rest of this
amazing team.
Have a happy weekend.

Help! The Chickens Are Molting

Hi! It's Candy with a 2-page layout to share for Linnie Blooms Designs this month.

I am completely in love with my chickens and I have to scrapbook every little thing they do. When they molt, or lose feathers and replace them with new ones, they look absolutely ridiculous. So, like any good moma, I took lots of pictures and created this layout.

I am also completely in love with the little pockets from Linnie Blooms and I knew one would be perfect for this page.
I started with a stencil from The Crafter's Workshop. I applied it to the pocket with Archival Ink. Then, I used a combination of Distress Inks until I got the right color. I glued down the front flap and then added a little resin button from Melissa Frances. Then, I added a bit of green twine and filled it with some of the feathers I have picked up from the chicken coop.

On the opposite page, I used some Linnie Blooms Canvas Squares and Pennants to create a banner for the title. I colored the canvas pieces with Distress Ink and added plastic letters from Tim Holtz to the top. To create a look of stitching, I topped each piece with tiny staples using the Tiny Attacher.

I love the rustic feel the canvas pieces gave to this layout. What do you think?

Kindergarten Mini Scrapbook Album

Although we are fully enjoying the many hues and events of this Fall season, which I absolutely LOVE.  Lets also remember to get those back to school memories down on paper. It's always good to get a start on creating those memories on paper before the new year rolls around.

Below you can take a peek at my video showing each page and detail of the mini.

I hope this has inspired you to print those back to school pictures we have stuck on our cameras and phones.  Yes, the school season has only just begun, but so has the many many memories our kids will create for this school season.  So let's get started!
